I couldn't decide if my hot tub cover should attach directly to the deck or if it should be attached to the spa cabinet. So I took some brackets 8 inches long and made a gurney whereas the hot tub cover was suspended above two bridges. The bridges made it so the wind would not knock over all of the work I had been doing. My fear would be that if I was spending all my time on the wind bridge, and not enough time just putting the colors on the hot tub cover, I would lose my priority, which is the aesthetics of feeling that hot water and listening to my Zen music.

Some hot tub covers have drain holes and others don't. Some appear to drain and then dry while others don't. I bought my hot tub with special drain holes. If there was some type of a carriage that allowed me to drain the hot tub and then dry it I suppose I would go out looking for that type of hot tub. It's frustrating to me that my brand new cedar hot tub doesn't even have a cover that drains and dries because there are drain holes that are built right into my cover, so you would think the opposite. Maybe I should upgrade my hot tub cover to something that gives me double my protection because I can't stop thinking about it!

My cedar hot tub doesn't have any rust or any of the typical oxidation, because it uses 304L grade stainless steel screws. This is important because when the rain begins to come down, and the salty air from the ocean, you want all the protection you can get! My cedar hot tub is nice and warm and perfect, and the kids can't get in their because I have the 304L screws bolted into the lock to make sure I am always their to administer parental controls.

My favorite part about hot tub decks is that they allow you to build one very high above the neighbors. This allows you to see them, but they can't see you. I built mine surrounded by fir trees. Then a created a plethora of plates, studs, and joists on a redwood bed so I could be safe in my metal and wooden fort. Then I play music and let the spa chemicals go to work, soothing my tired, aching toes. Make sure if you surround your hot tub deck by trees that you don't allow them to get their maple syrup all over the place.

Some spa chemicals are so filled with chlorine that your eyes will actually sting and your skin will begin to uncomfortably scratch! I have heard of people's hair actually falling out over time and people's clothes becoming permanently bleached and destroyed, (for those rare few who wear their clothes in their hot tubs). I think the key with spa chemical water is that you look at it like it is makeup: You put it on but don't know it is there. Your friends and relatives come over and think it is absolutely pure spa water but don't realize it is filled with safe, natural spa chemicals.

My fiberglass portable hot tub is great because it plugs right into the wall outlet. I didn't need to have any special electrical engineers or professional companies do the job for me. Plus, my fiberglass portable hot tub only weighs a few hundred pounds. Some weigh about a thousand. But I wanted it to be really simple. Just throw some bromine and chlorine in there and I'm ready to get this party started!

Cedar hot tubs are made nowadays with computers and lasers. This makes the quality particularly high, and the insulation and ability of the wood to expand even higher. Throw in hydrotherapy to your olfactory experience, and feel those jets soothe your tired, arthritic-ridden muscles, and you will be in absolute heaven! I grew up back in the olden days when we didn't even have the cool LED digital displays or the computer automated micro-filter systems.

You can measure the spa chemicals in your discount hot tub by simply using ph strips to find out how much chlorine and/or sulfates are floating in your hot, warm water. I just dip my ph strip into the water and I am given an instant reading of how much alkalinity and/or acidity I am dealing with! These usually don't cost that much and are very much worth it because you are living healthy if you simply know how many chlorine and/or sulfate particles are floating in your vat of spa chemicals and warm, lush water. And you'll know that the spa chemicals are working when you see that the bugs all around you are dying, but your kids in the pool appear to be absolutely safe and unharmed.

The hot tub rental place should make sure you are supplied with a filter that can cleanse your pool of all the different forms of bacteria, mildew, fungi, and hairs and oils that can coalesce in your hot tub. You think you are fine, but then you go home and have a questionable, nasty rash on the inside of your leg. This is rare but it does happen on occasion. So before you go to your next hot tub, make sure they have a filter - I prefer the sand kind.

Hot tub rentals make a lot of their money off of private parties. They are not so concerned with insulating their hot tub - it is true, because it usually is only for a short period of time. But you'll still receive a good deal because a hot tub is a hot tub! I often imagine my friends soaking away their woes in the hot tub. For instance, my godfather, who has had some medical issues with his legs, has found the hot tub to relieve his pain considerably!

But you should "shock" the hot tub on occasion anyway, which means using a prescribed chemical stew you can get from your discount hot tub dealer to make sure the vat is cleaned out. Granulated chlorine or monopersulfates seem to work very well for this cause. The bottom line is this: We sure have come a long way from the olden days of just having a wooden shell filled with hot water to sit in!
